Re: Utah Elk hunting
Colorado by far has the best OTC elk hunts over any state due to shear numbers of elk and oportunity. I'm sure you'd be disappointed going anywhere else.
My suggestion would be to just find a new place to hunt within Colorado

Re: Keith or O'connor
I killed my buck in Colorado this year with a Sako TRG 42 & Nightforce scope chambered in .338 Lapua at 325 yards using a 250 grain Scenar bullets. It blew an 8" EXIT hole out the backside and took heart and lungs with it like a vaccuum. Overkill?? Dead is dead =D> I don't think anyone is debating ...

Elmers famous quote to Jack was " The .270 makes a great coyote gun."

Re: Thanks for your time
Don't panic just yet, scouting in this heat has been tough on ALL units.
Your unit has aproximately 7000 head of elk on it.....you'll be just fine.

Re: Big Bull "Chubby?"
Chubby could not have been hit in the guts and survived this long. Most likely hit further back and lodged in the hip on the other side. It's a shame but if he made it this long and still grew 375" of horns most likely in my opinion he will survive to be shot again this year by some lucky hunter. I...

I was told it entered his gut area and is in his hip somewhere, but that's second hand info.MuleyMadness wrote:Where did he get hit Skull? Meaning where is the arrow lodged in him? bummer

Re: Big Bull "Chubby?"
I have a friend that's been filming chubby all summer and says he will only go about 375" this year and looks pretty unhealthy. He also has a lot of footage from the year before whn he was in his prime. His whole back end is pretty much gone from what it was the prior year. Spidey took all the limel...
