Do your own thing... but do it... moved here 8 years ago and have several elk to show for it. You have to learn, put in the miles and research and spend time out there.

Dragging? Have you read about the gutless method? You barely break a sweat. sled or no sled I am never interested in moving another entire elk around on the ground.

10 hunters = 10 different answers. Join the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and read their info and make a decision based on what best meets your needs. Support groups like the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, www.rmef.org. They are taking positive actions to get them off the list and have management plans for all of those states. I turned down a job in dillion a few years back, when I was looking at real estate there was a house that came with an outbuilding that was a furnished meat processing shop. With a newborn we did not end up moving there but that was really neat.
