Re: Glass Arrowhead vs. Modern Broadhead

Interesting video, especially to see how he made the arrowhead. However, it would not be legal to hunt big game in my state (AZ) with that head, so he should check his state's regulations.

Re: First time headed out of state!

If you want help hunting in another state, it would probably be beneficial if you told people what state you were talking about. I'm assuming that might be Wyoming, but who knows.

Re: Elk and crossbows

Any chance you would be able to shoot with the other arm? I've known right-handed people that got hurt just before the hunt, and quickly taught themselves to shoot left-handed in time for the hunt (Pete Shepley, owner of PSE for example). Just a thought, especially if it is a permanent injury, and y...

Re: SD buck at 3 yrds!

Congratulations! My first bow-killed mule deer was also well under three yards (spot and stalk). The arrow went right through mine and he never even knew he'd been shot. He just walked a few more yards and then laid down, then fell over within a few seconds. It wasn't nearly as exciting as yours if ...

Re: Rage or Muzzy's

I have killed probably 20 or more animals with the Rage, including a bull elk many near elk sized animals (Kudu, Gemsbok, Blue Wildebeest, Waterbuck etc.). They have performed perfectly in largely every case. I did have a penetration issue on one of the smallest animals, a javelina, but it may have ...

Re: A few more arrowheads

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure they'd be illegal in my state (AZ). I believe they have to have a metal cutting edge by law.

Re: Black or camo bow?

I compromised on a black riser with camo limbs. I also accessorized mine with black/red strings, stabilizer, wrist strap and Code Red arrow rest Here's a picture of the bow (Hoyt Carbon Matrix) with the red/black strings before the accessories were added. Only the limbs are camo, which doesn't show ...

Re: AZ Hunting

To answer your question, yes there are many of the higher demand elk units that will reach the 10% NR cap before any tags fall to the random drawing for NRs, so you will need to have the maximum number of points to draw a permit in those units (8,9,10 and several others). For a NR to draw a Unit 9 t...
