Re: Garmin Rino 530 HCx
So, we have been using these for two weeks or so. Here are my opinions so far... 1.) You absolutely have to have the extra topo mapping software in order to make the mapping and GPS portion worth the money. 2.) being able to see where your hunting partners are on your GPS in relation to you is price...

Don't forget to practice a time or two before you take one home!

Re: Final weekend this it it... Hopefully I do it different
CodeRed, I had a similar situation last year. I think the thread is probably still up on the board, but I shot a 5 point at 26 yards broadside and hit a little high because I estimated the shot at 30 yards and it was downhill. I saw the arrow sink 2 and 1/2 feet deep into the bull. Blood was very li...

Re: Idaho Archery Elk
I was up on Saturday and called in two other archers... Monday we hunted again, we found some amazing country with all the fixins for a honey hole, but it was only missing one thing. The only thing missing was the ELK! We did see one cow and heard another elk with her, but never saw it. They got up ...

Re: Idaho Wolf Hunt Success?
I haven't bought a tag yet...waiting to see what the judge says.
I thought for sure we would get more than this the first couple days. Three is good, but I wish it was 300.
I wonder how many hunters will practice on a couple before they tag one?????

Idaho Archery Elk
Anyone have any success in the opening weekend? My friend and I hunted Sunday and Monday. The elk were not responding to cow calls or bugling. It is still too early. We saw probably 24 bulls in two days and a few cows, but all were too far to pursue. We stalked two bulls (a 5x5 and 6x7) and they end...

Re: Sight Questions
I got it figured out. Rest needed to be raised and the peep was a smidge too low. Thanks for your input guys. I am a idiot when it comes to the mechanics of the bow. Still too new for self-diagnosis.
Thanks again and good luck this weekend to all you idaho elk hunters.
