Re: 3 Point or Better Units

I know that 4 point or better units do not work, but have been curious about 3 point units. It sounds similar to the brow tined bull or better units that are in Montana. It lets the animals get a little older, but not to trophy level before they become available for harvest. I think it would work be...

Re: 2013 Oregon Controlled Rifle Hunts

SE Oregon is a lot different than Idaho north of the Snake River Plain. Much drier and slow to recover. I'd call the bio at ODFW in Vale and ask him.

Montana Buck

Re: ATTENTION NEVADA MULE DEER HUNTERS!!!

I'm not all that moved by this article. These guys seem angry about everything. Predators are clearly an issue, but game management is a lot more complex than just shooting coyotes. I'm way more concerned about once productive winter range turning into worthless expanses of cheat grass. Nevada has s...

Don Peay on public ownership of wildlife

Worth a read... this article is about Alaska, but it is telling. Don Peay, the founder of SFW, calls the N. American Model of Wildlife Management socialism… I don't want to live in Europe or Africa where you need to be a rich man to hunt, yet that's the system he seems to be pushing. Snip: Peay, who...
