Re: Badlands 2200

I have been using mine for a long time, maybe 8 or 9 years. I love it. It carries a load (like a boned out hind quarter) really well. I don't have much to compare it to as my old pack was a Cabela's Elite and it isn't half the pack the Badlands is. The only thing I do wrong with mine is I put too mu...

Re: Success!

I drew a muzzy cow tag for GMU 36. Headed out Thursday. Trying to figure out how to play this one. We're headed up toward Muddy Pass north of Vail. I've hunted father north a couple times but never been on this side of the unit. Looking forward to getting out in the mountains.

Re: Bullet choice for elk

I need to check out those Thor bullets. I normally use the Hornady Great Plains bullets. I have also used a TC lead conical with the felt gas checks. I don't remember the name of them because it's been a while since I shot them. I have a bunch of Powerbelts but I won't use them in the field. They fa...

Re: New hampshire moose

If I was a NR, I would consider a guide. Especially up north. Those are pretty big woods and it would be nice to know your way around. Plus, if you're hunting up there, the odds of getting a good bull are pretty decent. A guide could put you in the right area. A lot of the moose in my unit are shot ...

Re: New hampshire moose

I would expect there's a fair share of road hunting up north but maybe not as much as Maine. Partly because of the amount of back roads. I would expect a fair number of people hire guides. I'm not sure why a lot of the moose are small. There are some big moose in NH but it's like a 7X7 bull elk in C...

Re: New hampshire moose

PLP, The northern part of the state is probably your best bet. I went fishing the other day and as I was putting the boat in I had to wait for two Conservation Officers to gas up their boat and launch. I walked over to them and asked if they were assigned to part of unit M. They said they were. I ha...

Re: New hampshire moose

Hey PLP, Sorry it took so long to reply but I'm not on the boards as much lately. I was just over in the southwest part of the state Friday near Keene and it looks mighty moosey over there also. I think any of the units would be a decent draw as long as you do your homework and set aside some time t...

Re: colorado results are posted

Blanked out here. I had 2 NR points and tried to draw GMU 15 MZ bull. I figured it would be a lock, but not this year. We used to hunt it on a statewide MZ bull. Of course that tag no longer exists.....too bad. I might try OTC archery if I go this year. Bought a new bow last year so I have no excuse.

Re: New hampshire moose

Hi PLP, I just drew a tag this year. Unit M, southeast corner of the state. I live in Unit M so I'll be hunting in my "backyard". My first NH moose tag. I'm a resident and have been applying for a tag or a bonus point for 10 years since I moved here. Moose densities are lower but they are around. 98...

Re: Hockey Fans?

Hiker is all over it. :not-worthy I was gonna say Tim Horton's Doughnuts. lol

I lived along the border for a good chunk of my life so I know what you're talking about. We were always able to pick up CBC and other Canadian broadcasts. Hockey Night in Canada, eh?
