Re: Help scoring

What tag does your buddy have? Is it all about the score for him? This buck looks to be a 140 class buck, but tough to tell from the photos. Respectable for most people, especially on a general unit. Good luck on the hunt.

Brett, I do live up North know. I live in Layton now, so the Island is just a short drive for me. I try and head out there at least once a week. I still head down south for most of my hunts, though.

Getting me through

I've still got a while until my hunt starts, so I tend to spend a lot of time out chasing deer with my camera in order to get me through. Here's a couple of Antelope Island bucks that keep me dreaming. Enjoy. https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3870/14829068708_3c4735ff86_b.jpg DSC08460 by gao_er_fu_qiu ...

Big Velvet Bucks

Here are a couple of short clips of big Antelope Island Bucks to get your blood pumping. The other buck in the second clip is a unique one too. It's a fun time of year now that you can start to see what they will end up like. Video taken with a Vortex Viper HD spotting scope and Phone Skope. Enjoy! ...

Re: First Muzzy Buck

Thank you! I did shoot with the palm saver piece still attached to the ramrod, and I have also done so several times at the range. I have never had a problem with it. If it somehow were to come loose and protrude further out I can imagine damage could be done. I actually find it to be a welcome feat...

First Muzzy Buck

As mentioned in an earlier post, my brother and I drew muzzleloader tags for the Pine Valley general season unit in Utah. We grew up in St. George, and spent all of our early hunting years roaming the hills there. Early in the summer we purchased new CVA Optima V2's and spent a lot of time at the ra...

Re: The slowest 10 days of the year

I got my first muzzy buck this evening. Not one of the real monsters we were chasing, but I'm happy nonetheless. I saw this buck feed out into a clearing on Saturday evening and couldn't quite get a shot. I got there early this evening and found some good cover about 200 yards from where he fed out ...

Re: The slowest 10 days of the year

My brother and I have hunted the last four days and have seen over 40 bucks. We helped a friend get a nice three point opening day (His first buck ever). We could have killed decent three points and forked horns every day of the hunt but we have held off hoping for a chance at one of the bigger buck...
