Re: How I sharpen Montecs

Thanks, I have been using a piece of carbon, but have not been able to get them as sharp as you do with your tool. I agree with PhillyB, please show us how to make the sharpener, and where to get the parts.

Actually, I hope school goes well for you, and that you have lots of fun and some time chasing white tails.

Re: Best Fixed Blade for Elk?

So how much are you going to sell them for? There will be a market for these I hope you realize this. You may not make millions, but you may make some spending cash.

Re: Best Fixed Blade for Elk?

Dead is dead, congratulations on your kill, anything taken with a bow is a trophy, and you have meat on the table. I love my Montecs, except for when I have to sharpen them. I cant get them as sharp as I would like. I get them sharp enough to do the job, just not as sharp as I would like to get them...

Through and through with the Montec on a muley hit a rock on the other side touched it up and used it on another muley. My boys use the shuttle T and have had good luck with them, so I changed to...

Re: 3 or 4 fletchings?

I have noticed more stability at long range while shooting broad heads. I asked two pro shooters what they shoot, and both of them told me they shoot four fletch. I went from 3 fletch to 4 fletch and like the way they fly. I shoot out to 85 yd for fun, and seem to hit more consistently.
