Re: nevada ruby mt

Re: High Country hunting help
The best thing to do is to get deep into topo maps and satellite images of the areas you are looking into. This sounds like a new area to you, so if I was you the very first thing I would do is call the local biologist in the area you are looking to hunt. Talk to them about specific types of habitat...

Re: Packable Spotting Scope - suggestions

I have a some odd needs as I need a super powerful scope to see the areas I hunt and I also do mostly pack-in style ...

We were camping near a lake called Tamarack Lake here in Lake Tahoe and at about 11pm we started hearing some very loud and angry growling and howling. I have been around a ton o...

Re: Literature for a new mule deer hunter
I dove into muley hunting a few years ago and the best books I can recommend are Hunting Open Country Mule Deer by Dwight Schuh and Public Land Muies by David Long. They both pretty much cover the same topics. This is what I do: Find good habitat - for me that means habitat near cliffs or rocks in v...

Packable Spotting Scope - suggestions
I have looked in the forums and saw post's about spotting scopes but everybody usually has their mind made up on two similar scopes. I would like to know what the forum guys are carrying into the field to scout and locate. I will be hiking with it so every ounce counts and I need great magnification...
