Rutting in the Colorado high country?
Just wondering what's going on up in the high country. I haven't been able to get up to check trail cams since September. If you've been out recently, will you share with us your thoughts on how the deer are moving around, what rutting behavior you're seeing, etc. Has the recent precip stirred thing...

i encountered a similar situation a few weeks ago. I hit some loud, crunchy snow but I managed to get pretty close to some Muleys before they spooked. I wouldn't suggest being any louder than necessary, obviously, but I tyr to remember that the woods aren't really quiet. Trees fall, limbs break and ...

I had heard something about that, too. Essentially, crops (sugar beets was the example I heard) must be harvested. I'll effort that one....

I have 35 acres in the Colorado mountains, elev. 8500', which backs up to BLM and National Forest land. I set a stand in a Spruce tree (most Pines were wiped out by the Mtn.
