Re: Binocular and Spotting Scope Use

Thanks for the input everybody. The area I am heading to has the big basins so I think I will spend the money. I would rather have them and not need them verses getting out there and realizing that I should have brought them with. I was just looking for an excuse to not spend the money but I think I...

Re: Binocular and Spotting Scope Use

Also I apologize... I should have posted this in the Optics and Gear forum but for some reason did not see that until now.

Re: Binocular and Spotting Scope Use

Awesome! I greatly appreciate the input. Having said that, last year I bought a pair of binos that are 10x42 Bushnell Excursion. I used them last season for both whitetails in Michigan and bear in Wisconsin, but my concern is if they are good enough to use out West. They worked great here for the wh...

Binocular and Spotting Scope Use

I am planning to go out to Colorado in 2016 for a mule deer and/or elk hunt. I am not personally familiar with western hunting, all that I know is what I have read. The question that I have is how many of you use only binoculars and how many use both binos and spotting scopes? I plan on getting as f...

Re: Muzzleloader Use in Colorado

I don't think you guys that use the old tech are nuts. I like to think that you all are more accomplished and confident in your skills than I am. When the compound or inline starts to become too easy or no longer give me the adrenaline rush that it does I'll make the switch, but I am not there yet.

Re: Muzzleloader Use in Colorado

I appreciate the input guys. I just want to make sure I am legal and understand everything. I use an inline muzzie and also I use a compound for the bow seasons when hunting white-tails. I agree 100% that compound bows and inlines are not primitive weapons and have mad respect for the guys who shoot...

Re: Muzzleloader Use in Colorado

Thank you very much. That is what I was thinking but thought I would ask to verify.

Muzzleloader Use in Colorado

I am a newbie to western hunting and I have a question regarding the use of blackpowder in Colorado (as I am sure many others do). I do understand the basic regs, such as iron sights only, no sabots, and 50 cal and larger for elk, 40 and larger for bear and deer. I shoot a 50 cal so no worries there...

Re: Michigan Whitetail

Thanks. I have had plenty of successes with whitetails but have yet to go after mulies. Working on changing that here within the next 2 years.
