My first year I took the first elk I saw, then I wanted a big bull, now I just want a full freezer bec...

Re: Taxidermy Options
thanks for the tips. I may go with just the euro mount then and save the $450 unless it is a bruiser. I do not know if any of you read the van dyke's catalogue but they have EVERYTHING you would want!

Re: Why do you elk hunt?
Thank you everyone.... I think you can see after 6 posts that it is not about the inches or antlers. I forgot to say that we need to have respect for those who do it for a business and when you have paying clients looking for antlers and inches it is a whole different business as opposed to Joe Hunt...

Why do you elk hunt?
I want to start this blog by saying that I really do not think there is a right, or wrong, answer to the question I pose above.... honestly. I truly believe we all come from different hunting backgrounds with varied experiences and successes. I ask the question in a response to all of the discussio...

Taxidermy Options
Ok, so I know I am being an optimist but taxidermy is already on my mind for October... If I get the shoulder mount I would like it but... I could also do a european (all of my other mounts in the house (deer/elk) are euro mounts). I am having a hard time deciding between doing a euro mount of the g...

Re: Recipes PLEASE
Good avice - keep it coming if anyone else has ideas. I am going with a guy who has many goats under his belt and seems to be very opinionated (he's also the one who got me access to the private land) but I can certainly wash him out and get some ice in there. For us the seaosn is the first weekend ...

Recipes PLEASE
So speedgoat is finally going to get to live up to his name.. I drew a CO antelope tag after 4 years of points. That being said I had some sausage that we made from a freinds goat from last year - it did not taste so good, gave me heartburn and found it pretty gamey. If you've eaten them before what...
