Re: Best use of Tax Payer money?

Realize, ever since the Nixon administration banned the use of compound 1080 and the feds took over coyote control on public lands, there have been millions of dollars spent on studies to determine the most cost effective way to control coyote populations. It's a subject on which there are thousands...

Re: coyote hunting question

Too many unknown variables to give a meaningful reply. They might be telling you you are busted, they might be telling you they are pissed they might be telling you that they aren't crossing a territorial line they might be saying something else all together. Current conditions like wind, time of da...

Re: Coyote Rifle Suggestions

I try and avoid recommending specific rifles for coyote. Just too many variables and too much personal preference involved. I will say, for myself, in a factory chambering, I like the .22-250 for coyote. And I'm a turn bolt guy. But, if someone else wants to go to town on them with an AR platform, t...

None of the above :)) . For p-dogs, my hands down favorite chambering is the .22BR. But I take the golf bag approach to shooting them. A .22LR, .17HMR or .22WMR for the close in ones and doing a walk-n-pop. A .221 Fireball or .17 Ackley Hornet or .17 Mach IV for the little bit longer ones. Then the ...

Re: Photographing mulies in July?

Hey thanks for the welcome and all the comments fellas! Glad to hear a lot of you talking Henries. That was where I was leaning as a first choice, with the Pauns probably being second. And, on the Books, I'm kinda hoping I can swing a long weekend out there too, in addition to the trip I'm talking a...

Photographing mulies in July?

Hey Guys, Noob here :) . For deer, I'm mostly a bowhunter, and for the last 20 years or so have done that mainly in the La Sals, where I've mostly taken freezer buck and not worried too much about big antlers. After putting in forever (12 years I think it took?), I drew a Books rifle tag for '11 tho...
