Just my two cents, and I have no idea what the auction was for, but most auctions tend to raise money for one cause or another. Maybe shedhunter can shed some light as to where the money is supposed to go. I learned a long time ago to not make a judgement on a situation until I know the facts. Sound...

Don't know if you realize but Colo is draw only for mule deer for the entire state. I'm not sure how tough some units are compared to others to draw in, but we always put in for 681 or 47. Great areas for muleys both with fantastic draw systems. I've gotten two nice bucks out of each the past couple...

I usually hunt both elk and deer combined season, providing I draw a tag for each and need a round that will take both. I hunt with a Rem .270 and have had no problems putting animals down using a 140 grain bullet. I used to hunt with Rem Extended Range boattails, but they quit making them. Moved on...

I agree completely with everything you said. To me, a successful hunt is not a huge buck, or even getting meat in the freezer. A successful hunt is spending time in the mountains with my brother and my dad. I have tried to get my kids involved in hunting but to no avail. I brought my son hunting a c...

I have taken a few does in the past and have no problem doing so in the future. All have been whitetails and the taking of does is definitely part of the game management program. Once they are in the pot you can't taste the difference between a buck or a doe, or a bull or cow. The only reason I'm al...

Meat or trophy hunter?

Just curious to find out how many people hunt for meat and how many hunt for a big rack? I consider myself a meat hunter. Nothing tastes better than venison. I have and will continue to pass up on young deer; ie: spikes and forkhorns. However, when it comes to elk I always put in for an antlerless t...

After reading everyone's input, thorough research on the B&C site, numerous hours of trying, I have come to a decision. I'll let someone else score the critter! I was never going to have it scored because I'm not a trophy hunter. Just got extremely lucky that he was the first buck I had a good shot ...

Appreciate the feed back but can't honestly say I'm happy with it. The sides are too symetrical to call it a non-typical in my humble opinion, although I can honestly say I've never seen a muley that branched off six points on each side like this one. Maybe they should open a new catagory for this c...

B&C Typical?

I need some help here. I shot a beauty 7X7 muley this year (no, I'm not counting the brow tines, a small kicker of each side). Looking at the rack I and others think it is a typical vice non-typical. My pic is currently on page 5 under "Andy Berthelot". The problem I'm having is going by the B&C sco...
