That might be a good thing to do... lol My brother went inot CalRanch and asked for a Archery Elk Tag, They sold him a Spike Only Elk TAg...he didn't think too much of it until I was notching min...

The elk around Strawberry are herding up pretty good...Saturday, I saw 3 bull with about 6-9 cows each

Ok...I finally figured out how to make the pics small enough to add them here. it was a great hunt and looking forward to this weekend to try and get my son a cow.

Another Cow down

Well, the luck is still holding out. I smoked a cow Saturday morning about 10 am...we had just started back up the ridge and heard some chirping at the bottom of a draw...I set my son up next to a big pine and ranged a few trees for him...I hassled back up to the top on the ridge and started calling...

I went to one RAC and it was a tuff sell.. [-o< .Pro, Jerry Slough, and others did a great job with the presentation...didn't leave the RAC members too much wiggle room to shoot it down. I love the change!! =D>

Sounds like the type of guy who gets his bow and mismatched arrows out the week before the season opens...throws a few at the target and says good enough...puts his broadheads, that have been rattling around in the bottom of the cabinet since last year, on and packs it all up.. I can't stand to hunt...

I for 1 am very thankful for the change. I took my 13 yr old son out Sat. and he got to stalk 3 deer and my cousin smoked a cow elk at 50 yrds!! =D> Sucess!!! My son got to learn first hand about following a blood-trail(a short one) and skinning and boning out the meat....Whee!!
