Re: Mossback 400" Bull
Not all of them are gov tags. Although the Mossback crew comes up with some dandys, I don't agree with their M.O. of hunting and try not to pay any attention to them.

Re: Score this bull
I'll say 350-360. He has good fronts that hook up, good beam length, and good spread. He is a little short on his sword points, but I would shoot him.

Re: shooting-- broadhead vs field tips
BHs will definitely fly different than FPs, but they shouldn't be THAT far off. Not sure to tell you what is going on....maybe try a different brand of broadhead? What kind of fletching are you using? I have have heard that attaching the vanes in a right hand or left hand helical pattern helps to st...

Re: choosing a cow to shoot without a calf, how?
I'm with you, I choose not to shoot a cow with a calf. Your best bet to taking a dry cow is to study the heard for a while and see which cow doesn't have a little one hanging around. If I had to decide, I would take a calf over taking a cow with a little one. The cow has a better chance of survival ...

Re: Hunting Gps
I like my garmin rino 530hcx because it combines a 2-way radio and topographic maps into one unit. Pros: Easy to use. Allows you to see where you hunting partners are in relation to you. Can talk to other GMS/GMRS 2-way units even if they aren't Rinos Cons: Spendy unit. Doesn't really do you any goo...

Re: Camo Pattern?
I like Max 1 for most of my western hunting. I also like the Optifade and the scientific theory behind it. Problem is, that it is only offered through Sitka Gear so far and it is a little spendy. I bought some Sitka gear this spring for the fall, so I guess I will see if it performs as well as they ...

Re: ?'s and tips on Trophy pics
If it is sunny out, put the sun to your back. Clear grass/brush between the camera and subject Pick a good background (mountains, sky line, etc) if possible If you have a gun in the picture, make sure it is unloaded, with an open action....and not pointed at you. Try to clean up the trophy as best a...
