Re: Personal Best Buck: 3rd Season Colorado

Congrats on the successful hunt! I can attest to the weather not being conducive to hunting in both the 2nd and 3rd season. We did have a system move through yesterday that put down a little snow and dropped the temp quite a bit. Thank you sir! Yeah, this is the second time I've been to Colorado (t...

Personal Best Buck: 3rd Season Colorado

We had a BLAST in Colorado and I had some success. The weather wasn't very favorable for hunting up there and many people had told me stories of having bad luck in the first two seasons. It was in the high 50s--low 60s during the day, and was down in the 30s at night; but there was NO SNOW anywhere ...

Re: Weather Report for SW Colorado

Everything I've seen has been mild and dry. We got 4-6" of snow here in Montana Tuesday, but I don't think it made it down that far south. Thanks for the report. Last week I saw the radar and noticed they may have gotten a dusting of snow a little higher up, but nothing big. There's a pretty big we...

Weather Report for SW Colorado

Anyone know what the weather has been like in the area? I've been hoping to hear they've had some snow over 8,000ft, but I haven't been able to get an accurate report. I also noticed there's a big system out to the west, but it looks like it's going to skirt just north of CO. Anyway, if anyone knows...

Re: Colorado Mule Deer Unit 35

I've hunted all my life but not as much as I would like to as of late. I travel a lot for work so between that and my family my time has been limited. I've lived in Utah most of my life where I've hunted Mule Deer, Elk, Bear, Moose, Mountain Goat and Buffalo. If you would like tips on where to put ...

Re: Another 3rd Season in SW Colorado!

I cant wait to hear about your hunts. i love that area. I wish I was going back there this year. There is always a chance at a nice deer there. Thats what keeps it exciting. I've seen some nice deer taken out of the area, I hope to get on the trail of one this year. With any luck I'll have some goo...

Re: Backdoor Draw Results Open for CO

You might want to looking into AZ, though you will need to pile up some points. We don't start hunting elk here until about 9000 feet and then up from there. Another thing you can do is get up to about 5000 feet, stay there for a few days, and then move up to 8-9000 feet for a few days just lazing ...

Re: Backdoor Draw Results Open for CO

I've got three muleys on the wall already but I'd much rather have elk in the freezer! Down to just a few pounds now and my wife has gotten pretty used to the stuff over the years. I've been out of wild game meat for a while now. Was able to bag a few ducks this last January so I have some of those...

Re: Quick run down on the hunting this year

My wife got her first deer during second season on our own land, a nice 3 pt with a dropper about 3 inches long. She asked me not to post the pic as was in her pajamas with the required orange. Yes, she shot it off the back deck. Third season I helped my cousin, brother, niece, and a couple of frie...
