Re: New Mexico 2009-10

Howdy, I hunted in Pecos Wilderness area in 2006 and took a good muley with my muzzleloader. Went back in 07 first rifle season and never seen a buck, quite a difference from my previous hunt. I applied for unit 5 this year, west of the reservation. Do you know anything about this country. Good hunt...

Getting ready for next year

Hello, Everyone. I hope you had a good deer season. Bow season is still going on here in Oklahoma. I checked my game camera today and got a picture of a real big 10 point. Probably 23-24 inches wide, problem is he is only coming in at night. I still have till the 15th of January so maybe he will com...

Re: Colorado Unit 5

Thanks guys, I appreciate your input. Do you know anything about the condition of road 550 northeast out of Columbine. How close to the Wyoming line can you get. Is there any parts of the road that are not passable by 4 wheel drive truck but might have 4 wheelers on it. We plan on backpacking up clo...

Colorado Unit 5

Decided to get another preference point and was looking for a second choice hunt. Have been directed toward unit 5. Has anyone ever hunted this unit and are there any quality deer there. I know it is a CWD area and thought maybe that is why there are left over tags. About ready to apply so all help ...

It's about that time again

The Colorado application deadlind is drawing near and I am still undecided about where to go. I only have 4 preference points so I dont think I can get into any of the real good areas but I have been thinking about maybe a second choice area that I might be able to draw into just because I love to g...

Utah's Ruby Mountains

Read a story one time about the Rubies in Utah. Said it was tough hunting but a good hunt. Does anyone have any information on the quality of deer, the availability of tags and access to the Rubies. I have never hunted in Utah so any information will be appreciated. My style of hunting is to backpac...

Thanks for the help. I was there in 2003, camped on Geneva lake but we only hunted 1 day and got snowed out. Seen a nice buck before season but didn't get a chance to hunt him. We now have 4 preference points and looking for a good place to spend them.

colorado area 43

Has anyone ever hunted the Geneva Lake region of Maroon Bells Snowmass Wilderness area east of Marble Co. Looks like it could hold a dandy buck. Any idea which way those deer would migrate.

Thanks for the information. I have hunted the Crystal Creek drainage in unit 54 but it was several years ago. I have also heard good things about the Taylor Park area of unit 55. Are these still good bets for big deer or are there better areas in these units that I need to check out?
