Re: Savage rifles?

The entire lines up of savage rifles are very good, they have taken a large share of the varmint rifles, and they are making a make in the F class shooting world. I have owned many savages over the years. 1st was a 99E 300 savage and still have several of them. Sounds like you have your mind made up...

Re: Information in Denver

I will give them a look. The reason for the 4ft wall and the high peak, for snow and heating. I have snow fly’s built for them and the snow slides off better on the 4ft wall than the 5ft walls. And I don’t need the extra room on the side, plus I’m tired of cutting so much wood to heat all the tents,...

Information in Denver

Need a little help in Denver: The last Wall tent I bought was from a company in Denver, it was down town, I think someplace around 16th & Market. (???) Don’t remember the exact name, Colorado or Denver tent and canvas, something like that, does anyone know if that company is still around and how to ...

Re: Best all around rifle set up...

Two cents: I love .308 Norma Mag, but it’s hard on whitetail and real hard on yotes and to hard on me in the prairie dog towns. I have hunted from Mexico to Alaska; the caliber that always is with me is 30-06, this caliber has never failed to do the job, even when I did my part poorly. You can alway...

Re: What do you do with coyotes

Down in New Mexico, I have a guy that will buy the dogs for $25.00, if you skin them he’ll give you 35-45 for the hide. It isn’t worth the 10-15 buck to skin them; I just drop them whole (they must be fresh). But he only takes them from Nov-Feb. In the summer I just hang them on fence post. Good way...

I would agree with the above, it is weather driven, another factor is elevation, down low they tend to say on the north side during mid day, using the south sides for traveling and feeding. I have always targeted southern facing slopes in the morning, I can see then traveling to higher areas for bed...
