I am going mule deer hunting this year...drew a tag in colorado. I have a very nice .300 win mag Thompson Center pro hunter that i would love to use. Will this rifle perform well for long range shots and muleys or do i need to go with something else???

I finally drew for a muley in colorado. I used to live in Southern Colorado so I have quite a few resources to find them. My biggest question is how do you hunt them in October during rifle season??

I hunt whitetails and they are totally different animals.
