Actually I do practice in field conditions, positions and temps in addition to any bench work but I wouldn't be happy with a 6" group at 100 yards unless I was shooting off hand balancing one legged on a post in a 50 mph driving sleet storm.

I own Leupold's, Nikon's, Burris, Zeiss, Swarovski, Vortex and a few other odds and ends. Without a doubt the Nightforce and Schmidt and Benders of the world are tremendous optics for serious long range work but everything I own are under the $1000.00 range and for most practical hunting situations ...

Yes, I have seen people paying 90.00 for 500 rd brick and being happy.

SS, pretty well covered it. I have both and it is pretty much splitting hairs but for some time now my 300 wsm has been my go-to rifle really probably more because platform suits me well.
