Re: The slowest 10 days of the year

Waspo...it was fun reading about your 2012 hunt. You got your two-point last year...how do you like your chances at seeing a bigger buck? As tempting as it is to take a smaller buck early in the hunt, you almost always have to pass on several to find a mature buck. Whatever you decide, it should be ...

Re: The slowest 10 days of the year

I'm glad you have a sense of humor about it. Several weeks ago I was out shooting my muzzleloader with my brother and we were making some final adjustments to our scopes. A couple of shots later we were both way off of the center of the target. We soon realized that we had somehow switched rifles (W...

SS...I've seen the pictures of the awesome groups you are getting with your Omega. I hope you do well. What unit will you be hunting?

Derek...I've enjoyed reading your stories from the past couple of years. I'm pulling for this to be your year!

The slowest 10 days of the year

I noticed the muzzleloader forum has been silent for a number of weeks and decided to try and revive it. I am sitting at the office watching the time crawl slowly by and wishing the muzzy opener was here. The 7-10 days prior to a hunting trip always seem to be the slowest of my life (except for the ...

Chasing geese and more

We are down south in St. George for my kids' spring break. It is nice to be back in my hometown. We've done some hiking, a little shed hunting, and spent some time at the family farm. Enjoy the pics. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8533/8614487841_9c81193e83_b.jpg DSC01195 by gao_er_fu_qiu , on Flickr...

Antelope Island

I took a quick drive to Antelope Island with my daughters this evening. I was surprised to see a group of bucks still carrying their antlers. We had a good time and basked in the sunset of the warmest day of the year so far. Enjoy. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8248/8556674004_23d6d84897_b.jpg DSC00...

Some winter shots

I moved back to Utah from Texas just in time to endure the miserable winter. Unfortunately, time and weather has not permitted me to get out with my camera much. I have made it out a couple of times. Here are some of my more recent shots. Enjoy. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8240/8506347206_826e8b3d...

Paunsaugunt Management vs. Book Cliffs?

First of all, I appreciate the input I have received previously on this site when seeking advice/opinions. I am looking for a memorable hunt this fall and the opportunity to harvest a mature buck. I have no delusions of expecting to kill a record book or 200" inch buck. I am from Southern Utah, but ...
