Mine was a hand me down 16 Remington single break open with a hammer. Worked good enough. :thumb

Mine was a Mossberg Pump 12ga. I lived a no-rifle county. I used that gun for everything from squirrels to geese, including deer. That was the first shotgun I bought. My first hand-me-down was a H&R single shot .410

My first was a Stevens break action .410. I remember being so excited seeing my Dad come home from work carrying it as I had just turned 12 and hunting season was just around the corner. I thought it was so cool that it would break down with a pull of the stock. I was always breaking it down and putting it back together just for fun.
I prefer my Browning 2000 these days, but Dad still uses the .410 shoot coons off the front porch. Yeah redneck and proud of it.
