What kind of duck?

Post by 79Ford » Sat Nov 29, 2008 12:56 am

Went out duck hunting this morning and shot two of these ducks. I tried to identify them in the waterfowl guidebook, but there wasn't any ducks in there that looked like these. Anyone here recognize them? I have a picture of the wing as well, but for some reason it wont upload...

Cool, thanks! You guys are awesome. Maybe someday I'll be able to tell just by looking at them.

One book that really helped me with my waterfowl identification is a book called The LeMaster Method by Richard LeMaster. This book isn't just a bunch of pictures of waterfowl. His book has four different ways of helping you figure out what is flying by or what you have in hand. It doesn't seem to be in stores anymore the last time I looked for them. If I remember right I found mine on Amazon.
Live to hunt, hunt to live.

Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell
the difference.
