Last Pics of the Year (Not Really!)

Post by derekp1999 » Tue Sep 06, 2011 11:17 am

Here's my last batch of trail cam pics for the year, this year being much more successful than last year. I didn't intend to pull them for the year, but after reviewing the pics I'm glad that I did because of this guy! He decided that my camera didn't need to be pointed down the trail & pointed it skyward. Quite frankly I'm just glad he didn't steal it... so I'll take sky shots if it means I still have my camera. I couldn't risk having him make a second visit & deciding that he needed it more than me.

Anyway, it's not much... this spot looked real good in June & early July with several bucks roaming about, but I didn't see a single buck for over 5 weeks (didn't see a single deer for three) so that was a little disappointing. Ultimately it looks like things turned around a bit & it's a spot that could merit a look sometime during the general muzzleloader hunt this year.

Nearest I can figure is this a bat flying past a cow moose.

Apparently deer & moose don't mix.

Nice pics, enjoyed them this year. Glad he didn't take it also. Still can't see why people would even mess with it.

So, I lied... since I had some juice left in my batteries I decided to place my cameras over the salt licks at the cabin. In one week I got these pics of a little 2 point and a VERY small bull moose that looks to be very freshly rubbed (he still has blood on his teeny little antlers and some velvet hanging on at the bases).

That area looks good, hopefully it'll turn out well!
