Primos "new" truthcam 35 "ULTRA"

Post by Muleys 24/7 » Mon Jun 18, 2012 8:23 pm

I just bought one of primos new trail cams, the truthcam 35 ultra. Has anyone seen or started useing one of these yet? I like the fact that they are real compact/light weight and take AA batts.

Just put it out today so I'm not sure how well it'll work, I'll be sure to post results in a couple weeks for anyone whos intrested.

I'm interested to hear how it works for you... I've been very happy with the two TruthCam 35s that I've had for a year or two so I've considered going with the "new" compact models on the next purchase.

Ok, I couldn't leave it out the whole week... the suspense was killing me.

Let me start off by saying I currently own 2 primos 35 cams and 6 primos 46 cams and been happy with'em for the price.

About the primos 35 Ultra that I had bought, I'm not impressed with the quality of the pictures at all :>/ vs the original 35. I'm not sure if it's just the cam I got or they're all like this (I would think all the 35 ultras would be like this). The quality of the pictures during the night are even worse than the day photos. I will not be buying another 35 ultra. I would rather stick with the original 35 and carry the extra bulk and get better photos and save the extra $40. I'll post a few photos below and let me know what you guys think....Is it just me? (???) My next post has photo's from the original 35.

Here's some photos to compare to the above. These are from the original 35.

Just some thoughts...

1. Daytime photos will usually be better. So hard to compare night pics on one cam vs. day on other.

2. Looks like you might be having some focus issue with those bushes?

Your right, maybe I'll set up both the original 35 and the ultra 35 side by side and then create an opinion off that. It would seem more fair to the new ultra. I'm really hopein to get better or same quality photos out of the ultra.

I'd say the night time pics do look a bit grainier... but I'll reserve my full judgement until you get some results back on your side-by-side testing.
I'll admit that my initial reaction to the pictures would NOT be to run out & buy the "Ultra." Thanks for the first hand review Muley.
