Hiked in to my traditional spot early in June, and to make it more of an adventure I took my two oldest kids. Incidentally, my daughter ended up falling into a pile of red ants that scared her (she didn't get hurt, gratefully) & I was quickly reminded of how different boys are than girls because she requested that I hold her hand the rest of the hike. But ultimately, both were absolute troopers.

On the 25th I made a trip back up to check the cameras with my son and a friend and his son. This time the two boys made it a point to climb over every fallen tree and roll in every ant hill on the mile hike up, turning a 40 minute round trip hike into a two hour trek... but they had fun.
Here's some of my favorites:
ImageNone of the bigger bulls that I was seeing last year so far... there's still time.
ImageImageI have a series of pictures of this elk pulling the end of the python lock from the security box and chewing on the end of it for several minutes... darn thing chewed the plastic coating right off. They sure are curious/mischievous creatures!
ImageImageImageImageImageThe buck in the last 3 pictures could quite possibly end up being the biggest buck I've been able to capture on camera. Hopefully he'll stay in the area and shows up on camera a few more times.
