Great Buck pics!

Post by MuleyMadness » Sat Oct 08, 2005 10:00 pm

What do you guys think? I was elated when I got these pics. This is the 3rd best buck I've been watching during the summer and finally got some AMAZING trail cam pics of him. Never gotten close to him before, I thought he was just a "goofy" 4 point. But as you can tell he has several other little points and is real bumpy and knotty all over.

Thanks for looking! :)

It was almost like he said, "what?, you wanna get a better view of my rack...

Oh, by the way he is a "Cactus buck", he hasn't shed his velvet and won't. His velvet should have been off long ago in this pick, who knows maybe he'll be back next year and be a real freak monster. :)

Around here a cactus buck is either a buck that some weird genetics and when they grow their antlers they have points just going everywhere or as in the case of this buck something has happend to where he hasn't shed his velvet even this late in the year. Chances are that he will not shed his antlers any more so as they keep growing there will be new points sprouting off the ones that are allready there and they can end up having ten or twenty points on each side. Making it look like they have a cactus on their head.
