Have you seen a decline in game activity on your tcam trail

Post by UTEXAN » Sun Aug 02, 2009 12:25 pm

Guys, just wondering if any of you have experienced a "decline" in game activity on your tcams, especially elk. Have both cams setup over water and the elk have all but disappeared. I figured with all the hot weather over the past several weeks it would have been better? Any thoughts? The only upside to all this is that I had a very nice buck show up. Wii post a pic later.

i am new to the whole trail camera thing i have set it up 2 times, both times on water for 9 days each. the first time i had 3 bulls come in and then i moved it and over the next 9 days had 24 bulls and 2 cows come in. I feel pretty good about that.

The elk always move closer to water in a couple spots where I hang Tcams, usually about the end of July and early August. Then they show back up mid to late September. I've been getting pics of elk though at a different location recently, so all is not lost.

Thanks for the input. As of last Saturday still no elk. I moved my 2nd tcam to a diffrent watering hole that had good sign. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Hunt starts this Saturday. :thumb
