Fun little sequence.

Took these awhile back. Not real professional but good enough to tell the story.
Note that the Squirrel ends up turning the table on the owl.

Cropped in close you can clearly see that the squirrel has hold of the owl.

The the squirrel ended up getting away from that owl, but it,s mate came out of another tree and delivered the coop de grace.

I would have never thought an owl would go after something as big as a squirrel. Ground squirrel, yes, but not a grey squirrel.

Thanks for the complements.

Abert , that is actually a bushy tailed ground squirrel. The Great Horned Owl has the greatest weight lifting capacity per body weight of any bird. In some places skunks are the most common thing in there diet. The leading edge of there wing feathers have little hairs that stick straight out. These make there dive on there prey perfectly silent.
