Packing a Spotting Scope??

Ok just a question do you take your guys spotting scope with you and a tripod when you go hunting or do you just use binos my tripod a pain to take with cause its kinda heavy and long i was thinkin bout building a Scope stick or Scope bipod lol anything thats lighter lol anyone have any ideas thanks

I think if you are going to pack a spotting scope you have to have a sturdy tripod. Some areas you need a spotting scope, sometimes you don't. There is no way around their extra weight, but man can you really find animals you would never see with binoculars. I always bring a spotting scope whenever I might need to glass over 500 yards or so.

I always pack my tripod and scope all year. Weather I am scouting or just out looking around. I have a velbon el carmagne 635 I think is how you spell it. It is carbon fiber so it only weighs just over 5 lbs with the head. I figure the sturdiness is worth the weight. It is kind of pricey though around $500 with the head.
