I use this lens with my Digital Rebel XT, it's this lens.

EF 70~300mm f/4~5.6 IS USM Telephoto Zoom Lens

LOVE IT! Very happy with the results.

Is there much of a difference between the 70-300 and the 70-200?
If you can't hunt them now, watch em till you can.

Yep, there is a noticeable difference. If your looking get wildlife photographs as in deer and elk, you may want to look into someting even bigger. I may upgrade at some point, when I get the money.

My dad shoots the 100-400 Canon lens and also has a 2x doubler.

Huge difference between his and mine.

But having said that I really like my lens, you need to be REAL close to wildlife to get good stuff though.
