Packing it out?

Post by WillysDad » Tue Jul 29, 2008 8:33 pm

What do you all prefer for packing out your harvest?

Frame ?

Frame pack?

Large internal frame pack?

Mid or less sized internal frame pack?
The more people I meet the more I prefer dogs!

I have a Badlands 2200 which I just got recently awesome pack

I also have a pack frame with detatchable pack allowing you to use just the pack frame it works well.

The internal frames are more comfortable but the External frame generally can handle the biggest loads.

I've got a Kelty Apache 2900 internal frame pack. I hunt with it and take the first load ,which I keep small. Then the big external frame pack comes out and the loads get heavy.

Hopefully, I will be using a combo unit. I have an Eberlestock J105 to get the critter to the trailhead and a Cabelas Super Mag Hauler to get the stuff back to camp. I have hauled a lot with the Hauler, a BIG hunting buddy who went 350+ along with some minerals we put out for whitetails in the pre-season so it will handle a boned out elk or a whole muley. We'll see if the terrain allows me to use it.
