Pentax 8x42
I have been looking for some good Binos for a while now, I found a pair of Pentax 8x42 roof prism binocs also water proof on KSL.com for a $100 dollars i read a ton of reviews on theseand some people compared them to the Nikon Monarchs, do you all think its a good price????

I don't think you can go wrong with these for $100.00.For light gathering the 8x42 roof prism are very good. Assuming that they are in good condition.If you want more power then you would go to a 10x50 but they are heavier.

For the longest time I had a pair of pentax 10 x 24's. They served me well, but i just stepped up to a pair of nikon monarchs 10 x 42's. Cableas has them on sale for 269.00 and nikon is offering a $50 rebate. So for $219 you can get a pair of the best low end binos out there. Eastmans hunting journal just did a bino review. They put the monarch in the top of the entry level class of binos. 0-500 dollars. I am thrilled with thier clarity, and light transmission. For the money I don't think I could have done any better.
That said $100 is hard to beat for roof prisms made by a reputable company. Good luck to you.

Well i did buy these and they are very clear and are not too heavy, so far they are great for the price! Thanks for the input
