Gun Care?
I still use the copper bore brushes and patches to clean my guns, but I'm an old dude. I've seen some "cleaning systems" and I was wandering what you western boys use. Is there a better way? If I use em or not I take em out and run a patch through em every three months.

I'm a big fan of the "BoreSnake", they're slicker than snot on a brass doorknob.
Just remember they call it hunting not finding. It's all about the stories.

I like them too and have one for every caliber I own. They're great for use in the field and for quick cleanings. Having said that, I've found that using a good bore guide and coated rod with brass and nylon brushes will continue to remove fouling that the snake dosent get. I've tried it many times after running a boresnake and patches will still run black and blue.crunch14 wrote:I'm a big fan of the "BoreSnake", they're slicker than snot on a brass doorknob.
For a good, deep and thorough cleaning- it's hard to beat the "old fashion way". Get a good copper/carbon cutting solvent and stroke away...
