Wyoming unit 102

Post by hunt04 » Fri Sep 14, 2012 5:36 pm

I am from out of state and am hunting unit 102. I have heard this is one of best places to hunt mule deer, and that there are some big bucks on this unit. Has anyone hunted unit 102 before?

I haven't hunted the unit, but I wouldn't get my hopes up too high. I have read a bunch of posts that say the unit has gone downhill, and that if you see a 170 buck you should take it. It did sound like there are a lot of 4x4 bucks in the 140-150ish range. There are roads all over throughout the unit and it sounds like it's hard to get away from the roads, I'd look for some steep canyons or out of the way areas to try to find a bigger buck. Again though this is just what I have read I have no first hand knowledge of the area. Hope you beat the odds and find a bruiser. Good luck!

Not what it used to be, to many oil and gas roads, roads every where. There are still some nice bucks taken every year.
