Heber MDF Banquet

Post by dahlmer » Fri Mar 16, 2007 3:51 pm

We are holding our banquet on April 21st at the Wasatch County Parks & Rec Building, 90 N 100 W, Heber, UT(formerly the senior citizen's ctr.). Anybody interested in coming is welcome...or if you just want to shoot the breeze with Dahlmer come on out (c'mon...who can turn down that offer).

We will have two grand prizes that will be given out. The first will be a Deer Creek CWMU deer permit. Raffle tickets will be included in any sponsor or corporate package. We will also be drawing a North Eastern Antlerless Elk Permit for any youth under 18 years of age and eligible to hunt for the 2007 season. No entry is required...any youth who qualify will automatically be entered. This allows them to hunt during any season that is open on the NE unit.

Prices are as follows:

* Corporate Package: $600.00 (includes 8 dinners, 4 memberships, $240 in raffle tickets, 20 grand prize tickets.)

* Sponsor Packate: $175.00 (includes 2 dinners, 1 membership, $60 in raffle tickets, 5 grand prize tickets.)

* Couple Package: $90.00 (includes 2 dinners, 1 membership)

* Single Package: $65.00 (includes 1 dinner, 1 membership)

* Youth: $25.00 (1 dinner)

Anyone who pays for a sponsor or corporate package prior to April 14th will recieve an addition 5(S) or 20(C) raffle tickets.

You can call me (Jeff Rasband) at 435 671-6627 or Paul Kendall at 435 757-1278. Look forward to seeing you there.

Just wanted to remind everyone again of our banquet on the 21st at 6:00 PM. I've had a few people ask me about what to expect as far as the CWMU deer tag so I've put together what I can. If you have specific questions I'll try to answer them for you. Also a reminder for any of you that have youth hunters...any in attendance will automatically have their names entered for the North East cow tag which can be hunted during any season in 2007.

The operator indicated to me that they had three tags on the CWMU last year and killed two bucks...one was 29" the other was 27". The other hunter passed on several bucks that did not meet his expectations. I have asked for pictures of the two bucks killed, but have not recieved any.
I killed these two bucks the last two years near this unit. The 1st is 28" and scores 170 the other is 27" and scores about 145.

I know of 6 other bucks that were 4 points or better ranging from the 130's to the mid 170's that were killed near this CWMU including this buck.

All in all, not huge bucks but a few decent ones.

Just an FYI the World Record muzzleloader bull elk was killed by the guy who bought our Wasatch MZ tag last year...and then he was lucky enough to draw the Manti tag this year at the Expo. Just might be the start of a run of good luck for someone. :wink:

Here are some other items that will be available for raffle and auction.

Knives of Alaska
Never Enough videos
Vortex optics
$300 gas at Mountainland One Stop
A bow package from the good folks at I Bow Hunt
A day of flyfishing for four at Sportsman's Paradise in Paradise, Utah. Includes lunch and guide.
4 wheeler
Christensen's Arms rifle
Several guns including shotgun, rifles and Muzzleloader

We still have a little space available and are looking to keep it under 100 people to keep it more informal and fun. We would love to have you if you can make it. Saturday the 14th is the last day you can get the early bird special. You can call me at 435 671-6627 or Paul at 435 757-1278.
