I have 4 points for Mt. Goat and now that I got my deer tag for last year I wil be starting on elk with 0 points. So I'm really keeping my fingers crossed but not holding my breath. xcrossx

Shoot after last years Unsuccesful in all categories I am just hoping for a single general tag. I have a few points for Sheep and 8 points for elk. I am not getting my hopes up for anything though.

With 7 buck deer points I think I'll put in for the Vernon Unit for muzzleloader. My back-up options will be a Central or Southeast general tag. Crossing my fingers though. Everyone in my hunting party has drawn limited entry tags so I'm the last one left.

Haha yeah the bookcliffs arent what they use to be so alot of people have been changing units. There is still a chance at a good buck though. Where are you putting in for this year?

I've read some good things about the West Desert, Vernon unit and it's only about an hour from my house so I'll be putting in for that Muzzy hunt this year. There's 6 hunters in my party, the other 5 have drawn Book Cliff tags over the past 7 years and have all ended up with respectable 4 point bucks. I woundn't mind going out there again but I'm ready to try something different. I enjoy getting to know new areas. But like you said, the Books are not what they used to be.
