It is official today I was officailly discharged from the Marine Corps after 8 years 5 months and 13 days of active duty service!

Pete i am not sure to say yeah :) or ahhh :( . I know you had some bad luck with the hurt ankle. But you do have more time to hunt :)

I have just a couple more days than you. I think I put in 25 years, 7 months and a couple of weeks, not sure on the exact amount of days. I never did see any discharge papers, though.
It ain't the size of the gun but the placement of the bullet.

That is an awful lot of retirement points to just throw away! If you joined a reserve unit, you could nail down a nice retirement someday. If you converted your retirement points from the enlisted value to the commissioned value, then you could have a really nice retirement.
