Broke ear?
Broke ear?
Ok has anyone else ever saw a mule deer with a broke ear? I have a doe on the ranch that I have dubbed floppy because her left ear at the base appears to be broken. It looks like the cartilage is broke from the base of her head. It isn't cut open or anything but it just kinda hangs there and flops around. Doesn't look like it bothers her but it sure is funny looking. I guess it was caught in a fence or something. I'll try and get a picture of her, I see her all the time.

Re: Broke ear?
I saw a doe in the book cliffs here in Utah with a similar looking ear a few months ago. It wouldn't perk up or turn at all like the other one. I have pictures of it somewhere I think.

I've never seen a deer with an ear like that.. I'd love to see some pics. I could see how a fence could do that though.

Re: Broke ear?
I shot a buck in 1984 that had a flop ear. My friend mounted it with a regular liner though because of the difficulty to match the flopper. Price was right but at least I have the picture.
