NFL Replacement Refs

Post by Mularcher » Tue Sep 25, 2012 2:27 pm

I grew up in Green Bay so obviously you know my view with the last play in Monday night’s game in Seattle last night. After watching some of the bad calls in other games I’m almost done.

The NFL is the only major league that doesn’t have full time ref’s I would think with the NFL being so successful that they wouldn’t allow such an embarrassment and kill the goose that laid the golden egg

Reports say the major sticking point in the negotiations is a annual league contribution of $38,500 per referees’ pension I can’t believe this is more important that the integrally of the game. So I guess as long as the NFL’s ratings don’t suffer as a result of the dreadful officiating this is what we will be watching.

If I had got a couple tags this year I wouldn’t be home watching this. :>/

I didn't see the fiasco last night but I've seen a few calls that are no brainers or just simple to make and they go to replay and all that. I have a hard time believing that these are even high school refs, but whatever. I almost feel like the NFL is trying to take the fun out for penalizing big hits and such but just my opion.

Sucks to watch, and I'm sure even worse being a Packer fan, but it's great for marketing! When have you ever seen mainstream news, social media, etc sooooo consumed in football? They've got people talking and talking, and when (if) the regular refs come back, it will be big news and people will be excited to watch again, providing another popularity spike!
