FPS increase in going from 70# limbs to 80# limbs

Post by PhillyB » Wed Nov 14, 2012 10:19 am

I have a Hoyt Alphamax 32 with 70# limbs shooting 287 fps. I love the bow and dont want to buy another, but would like to 'spruce' it up a bit. I plan to shoot a heavier arrow this coming season and want to increase my KE and speed.

Does anyone know what the difference in FPS would be if I jumped to 80# limbs with a 28.5" DL?

I don't know for sure but I once heard that it was like 2 fps for every 1 lbs increase in draw weight.
