Bucks in the beans

Post by southwind » Tue Jul 01, 2008 9:44 pm

The last several days I have been seeing a lot of bucks in the bean fields. The head gear is looking real good, alll our rain has given them a lot of nutrients to choose from. Several bachelor groups out mid a.m.

Nothing like a little growing velvet to get the blood pumping.

I watched a nice little 8 pointer the other night after a rain about 500yds N. of my house in a bean field. I like to hunt the bean fields during the muzzleloader season as well as early archery season. During firearms season, I like the corn stubble as it gives me cover to creep between the rows if needed. We have definitley had a wet spring and winter giving great promise for wildlife habitat.
