Taking the edge off the heat

Post by southwind » Wed Aug 03, 2011 2:41 pm

As we approach our 40th day over 100 and yesterday's temp hitting 111 I found a way to make it a little more tolerable if even just for a few hours. Kansas is not known for Northern Pike but we do have a few waters with some present. There is one where the hot days of summer turn into an advantage. One of our small state fishing lakes has a cluster of springs at one end where the pike like to gather when water temps rise so we took advantage last weekend. After we landed four each we retreated back to shelter.

It looks like a blast. Very nice fish.
Is someone with 10 million dollars any happier than someone with 9 million?

I'll admit it...

I sure didn't think there were any pike in Kansas! Nice fish for sure! 10sign:
