Flaming gorge
I was wondering if anyone was going to flaming gorge this weekend i was going to go for macks during the day and then Burbot at night i cant wait to try those burbot i hear they taste like lobsters

Good luck on the Lakers, do you have any pics of the Burbot, how long have they been in the gorge? If in recent years, who put them in and why?

Up here we call them eelpout, the international eelpout festival is held on Leech Lake just down the road.
Check out their website. I believe they clam to have the biggest gathering of people on the ice anywhere.
Only part of the pout flesh is eatable, you have to know what your doing when you clean them.

Who and How did they get into the Gorge?
Where they introduced by the fish and game or did someone dump them in because they like them. Are they eatable? And how do they taste?
Are they competing with the other fish?

Here is a link with some more info on them i know people that say they taste better than lobster People are catching 20-50 a night so they are in there in good numbers and the ones that you gut are usually full of crawdads and baby smallmouth bass
