I heard that halibut swim just like regular fish when they are younger but when the get older and bigger the only way they can catch food is to lie on the bottom of the ocean and ambush their prey, Thats why their eye moves on to the same side as the other so they can catch food better, is this accurate. Just woundering.

Very nice catch. Congrats. Very tasty too. My dad worked up there sinking a mine shaft about 15 years ago. He'd work 3 weeks on and one off. Every time he came home he'd bring a couple of ice chests full of salmon and halibut fillets. Best fish I ever ate was that halibut.


So Tom, where is Stillwater from Fairview? I have family that lives there.

fairview if I remember right is a little over an hour away. Good whitetail country. Ya'll let me know when you're coming and I'll get the deep fryer warmed up.
