Fishing success ;)

Post by hound_hunter » Mon Dec 29, 2008 10:23 pm

With some huge help from Chet, I finally got a quality fishing trip in. 2 fishermen, 7 fish. 2 Tiger trout, 5 Rainbows. All catch and release, Used Rapalas, Mepps, Rooster Tails and I tried out this white jig (you can see in the mouth of the rainbow on the ground). The only tigers that hit were on that white jig. I'll post all the pictures we took, but we only took pics on the fish we were able to unhook/handle very quickly since they were all being released. Trout averaged 5 pounds.

They not wild trout, but man what a blast I had!! I can't thank Chet enough for helping me to get in a good quality fishin trip with my dad while i'm home.

(Trip took place the morning after christmas) - Man was it cold!!

It's the least I could do to pay back a marine for all his sacrifices!!!!!! :thumb
That first hen rainbow looks like a hog!!!! =D>
And that tiger looks smaller than the norm out of there, may be a female? The male Tigers I've caught out of there were all humbacked and hooked jawed....
glad you had fun with your pops!!!!
here is a sample of what it looks like without the snow:

Thats pretty impressive that that's a small Tiger for there! Sure is a great spot you've got Chet, maybe ill get the chance to fish it again sometime and go for a big male [-o< . Yeah I'm not sure how big that top rainbow is, it was the last fish of the day - caught dead in the afternoon, dad was on the other side of the lake so i snapped a quick picture and let it go but it would have been nice to get a pic with me in it just for something to compare it to in size. Just for reference, that white tube jig is I believe 3 1/2 inches - not bad :)
