OK I'm tired of this! I have a board issue

As I type a post, I like to consider what I'm typing, re-read things to see if they follow along and make sense. Then I hit the post button, and it comes up with an almost empty box with the word "Information" in it. I just assume it is some sort of time out feature. Then I have to start typing all over again. Can this time out be lenghtened or better yet turned off? Or do I have something else going on instead?

SRM, this has been brought up a number of times and trust me, it gets me sometimes also.

Brett stated in another thread that he's investigated the issue but unfortunately has not figured out what the issue is as of yet.

I know there are a few others on here deal with it differently but I'll tell ya what I do: If I'm posting an exceptionally long message I highlight what I've typed and copy it before I submit. If it does indeed time out on me all I have to do is hit post again, paste what I had typed, and submit again...works like a charm.

Also, if you know that you'll be typing a long message, such as a story, you can type it on a word processor such as Microsoft Word or notepad, copy it, and paste it in the body of the post.

Good luck my friend and don't let this minor issue keep ya from continuing your contributions to the site!

SRM, It stinks! I've had it happen to me quite a few times. I now do what AGCHAWK said, if I remember. ](*,)

I deal with it exactly as AGCHAWK suggested. However, if I do happen to forget, just hit the back arrow and it will show what you typed. Then copy it and paste it into Word. Then go back to the thread and hit "post a reply" again and paste it then submit. You probably don't even need to paste it to Word, you can probably just highlight it and copy and paste it to a new "reply", but I do the extra step just as a precaution.

it happenned to me a few time and each time i noticed that a new post appeared on the subject so i thought that it happenned cause 2 post
were entered almost at the same time.
if it's true, i guess it's hard to prevent.
so we'd better take that copy advice seriously if our post is to be long

I have no FIX for this issue yet, sorry guys!! I know it's annoying trust me.

I've asked the ADMINS who wrote the forum and no help there yet either.

Will be UPGRADING the forum in the near future I hope and we will see if it fixes the issue.
