WY bucks
Had a good time hunting pronghorns in WY. I counted and this is my 8th antelope. Always fun to hunt. We sized up many bucks and never did find a real big one. So we both ended up taking nice solid bucks, a 14" and a 13 1/2" with good mass. Both taken on Sep 30. The bucks were really working the does which was entertaining and made them more stalkable. I put on a nice 1-mile stalk and shot mine (the bottom one) at 275 yards with a stiff crosswind. The buck was actually walking in the same direction as the wind was blowing. I did some quick cipherin' (as Jethro would say) and decided the required lead for the walking antelope was cancelled out by the holdoff for the wind, so I held right on for 300 yards and the shot was perfect. .300 Win Mag with Barnes 180gr TSX. Great fun. Also spent 1 day scouting for mule deer in a limited-entry area that I drew. Mostly driving, a little glassing, but I did see 5 bucks in the 120-130 class. Heading back in 3 weeks to try for a mulie buck.
