Who wants to go shootin?

Post by Springville Shooter » Tue Feb 23, 2010 7:17 pm

So.....On my last trip back to Californa, I brought back all of my long range steel plates and I'm itching to find a good place to set them out as the weather improves and the days get longer. I typically set the plates out at 300,400,500,and 600 for practice shooting at big game. My question is; How many of you guys who live around central Utah would be interested in getting together for a little fun, friendly, long range plate shooting sometime this spring? I was thinking somewhere on the west side of Utah lake, or the west desert on BLM land.-----shooter

Right on, the chrony's always fun, and alot of guys seldom get a chance to check their loads for speed, although some are dissappointed with the performance of their favorite factory stuff. Can't wait!!!! ----shooter

Can.t go but try milk jugs filled with colored water. Alot more exciting and it will help save the earth from globel warming by breaking down the plastic faster. About the same size as vitals too.

I have a big box on my back porch full of jugs that my 12 year old blows up with her 308. You are right, I love the spectacular affirmation that you get when you hit a jug full of water with a high power round. ----shooter

Glad someone else also uses milk jugs for more than keeping dairy products in place!

Wish i could go with you shoooter but my muzleloader doesnt shoot that far accurately and my bow def. doesnt even make it that far..... One day i might get me a real rifle (bigger than a .22) but for now i cant complain about what toys i have.

You better get some pictures and maybe some videos together when you go!

Sounds good Pete, a group of us started doing this in Cali when I was a kid and they still shoot evey year, kinda even turned into a little friendly competition. And Maint, you should come and shoot one of the many rifles that my wife says I don't need so we can prove her wrong.-----shooter
